THE LATEST NEWS FROM YOUR SPACE

Well done to High Wycombe Music Centre for winning our music competition at the Music Education Expo this year. We sent them a keyboard to use at their brilliant music centre, we hope you really enjoy playing it.

We'll be heading down to London for a fantastic few days meeting and greeting music professionals at the Music Education Expo.  We will be having live links to our teachers off site and showing visitors around our system.  If you are attending the Music Education Expo please drop by the stand at E18, we would be delighted to see you.

Your Space Music Lessons is celebrating 'Learn to Play Day' this year by teaming up with two prominent musical instrument retailers for the weekend event.

Your Space Music Lessons will be offering a free 30 minute lesson to all Normans Musical Instrument customers who register on their website over the weekend.  Check out their website for more details www.normans.co.uk.

Your Space Music Lessons will also be flying the flag for learning an instrument at the Professional Music Technology store in Leeds.  We will be there to show you how we teach, answer your questions and you can even try it for yourself.  So come and say hello!  http://www.pmtonline.co.uk/stores/leeds/

We will be giving away a free 30 minute music lesson to those who register from www.pmtonline.co.uk during the weekend.

Your Space Music Lessons will be flying the flag for music tuition and demonstrating music lessons from it's network of professional teachers in the UK, where children and adults take lessons from their own home using everyday technology to connect and learn.  You can learn from a growing range of instruments including piano, saxophone, violin, flute and accordion with teachers trained to deliver tuition online using Skype.

Specialist online music school, Your Space Music Lessons, will be exhibiting at the Music Education Expo where music professionals are able to try out online music lessons for themselves.   A small set up within the booth will demonstrate what is required and how effective tuition can be.  The demonstration, which will link up with tutors off site, will effectively illustrate unprecedented accessibility to musical instrument tuition.  Many teachers and pupils ‘forget‘ they are facilitating learning through a screen and naturally develop a positive teacher / pupil rapport.  Accredited and DBS approved music teachers with Your Space Music Lessons are teaching pupils across Europe and are available to the education sector as an additional resource for music tuition.

3 different music teachers will be able to demonstrate piano, saxophone, flute and violin lessons online at the event.  Visitors are encouraged to come to stand E18 and experience what it's like to take one-to-one online lessons.  If you will be at the event http://www.musiceducationexpo.co.uk and would like to book a 10 minute demo to guarantee a time slot please email abigail@yourspacemusiclessons.com

Further trials for musical instrument tuition are available for schools or other organisations where there is a requirement for specialist music tuition, or where there is a lack of music teachers available locally for school children.  Your Space Music Lessons also run courses for school teachers and church music leaders who want to develop their skills in leading music.  Individual registrations for an introductory session are available at www.yourspacemusiclessons.com

What a start to 2016!  We are delighted to add saxophone, flute and violin to the list instruments that we teach due to popular demand.  It's a very exciting time as we broaden our appeal and open opportunities for more people to learn.  With these new instruments come fantastic new specialist teachers who are very excited to be part of the teaching network.  We can now introduce Alex Chisholm-Loxley who teaches piano and voice; Emma Gatens who specialises in saxophone, flute and piano;  Jordan Taylor who teaches violin, piano and flute and Craig Bradley who teaches accordion and piano.  Check out all our teacher profiles here https://www.yourspacemusiclessons.com/content/meet-our-teachers.  Welcome to the team!

HYMN ANGELS

Are you concerned that in the Church there are less and less organists and pianists leading live Sunday Worship, particularly in rural areas .

If your church is struggling for musicians help is on hand from ‘Hymn Angels’ who will nurture any budding musician and support any ‘reluctant musician’ to give them the confidence to sit at your church piano or organ and lead your congregation in vibrant and meaningful worship.

‘Hymn Angels’ meet individually  with budding church musicians on a weekly basis working with their church’s hymn list three weeks in advance, hymns are the sole purpose of the lesson.

Playing at a public service can initially be a nerve-racking experience which unfortunately mainly affects the fingers.  Our programme works to build up confidence.

Our ‘Hymn Angels’ are all qualified and experienced church musicians who play regularly at their local churches and understand the importance of quality and sincerity in worship.   The principal ‘Hymn Angels’ are Peter Shone who leads the music and choir at Ashley Parish Church, Market Drayton and Olwen MacLeod who leads music and choir at Clachan Church, North Uist.

We recommend easy hymns are set for services to start with and will  provide feedback on the type of hymns relative to the pupils ability.  We may also suggest that the pupil has a companion for part of the lesson prepared to sing the hymns with the player.

All this is done in the privacy of the pupils own home at an agreed time using Skype over the Internet to connect with their appointed ‘Hymn Angel’ for one-to-one lessons .

Weekly lessons last 30 minutes.

We offer a free initial ‘taster session’ over Skype .  If the person is happy to proceed we offer a starter pack of three lessons for £30.  Thereafter lessons are £15 each.

‘Hymn Angels’ are part of Your Space Music Lessons (www.yourspacemusiclessons) who are  currently the leading specialist in providing one-to-one music lessons over the internet.    As Education Authorities conduct their own successful trials in live lessons over the internet and our own pupils continue to make remarkable progress with their internet lessons there is a growing confidence that  we are leading a new revolution in ‘music lessons’  which brings opportunity for everyone to learn music wherever they are .
