Profile
Hi, I’m Chris Livingstone, a professional drummer and drum teacher. I’ve been teaching drums since since 1999. After studying Music at college in the mid 1990’s I went on to teach hundreds of students in my private teaching studio as well as students in over 40 different UK schools. I have a wealth of teaching experience ranging from one to one lessons, small group ensembles, whole class music lessons and percussion workshops to schools, colleges and businesses.
As a professional drummer I have performed in many different bands and musical situations across the US, UK and Europe. Although the bulk of my career has been focused on performing and teaching drum set, I initially learned to play in Scottish Pipe Bands which really helped me to develop a solid technical foundation and influenced my playing style. I have played and taught Pipe Bands for many years and, as a youngster I took part in solo drumming competitions and won prizes at national and international levels which included 1st place at the English solo drumming championships and 2nd place at the World Solo drumming championships in Glasgow.
In 2015 I relocated to Ogden, Utah, USA where I continue to teach and perform.
