About Chris

Chris is originally from Carnoustie, Scotland and graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music with a first class honours degree and an International Artist Diploma. He has since been made an Honorary Associate Artist of the RNCM. He is the principal euphonium of Brighouse & Rastrick Band, having previously played with Grimethorpe Colliery, Wingates and Kirkintilloch. Chris is the euphonium player for the multi award winning A4 Brass Quartet, and whilst primarily performs on euphonium, is an experienced tutor of all brass instruments and guitar.

As a soloist, Chris has given performances all around the UK as well as Finland, Ireland, Isle of Man, Lithuania, and Switzerland. He is a musician for Live Music Now and Music in Hospitals & Care schemes, bringing music to places it usually isn't heard, and works with children and adults of all ages, abilities and personal circumstances. Chris welcomes students of any age and experience to get in touch about learning a musical instrument.

Why not arrange a taster lesson?

We want new pupils to feel happy with their choice to take lesson with us.

Taster lessons are free and last 20 minutes to allow prospective pupils to meet a teacher, ask questions, discuss music books and get used to the online format.  If you wish to continue introductory packages start at £40.50 for 3 x 30 minute lessons.  Click below to leave your details and we'll be in touch.
