Ellie Brooke - Online Flute Teacher

'Passionate, Bubbly and Highly Engaging Music Teacher'

Discipline:  Singing, flute, oboe, piano

Qualifications:  MA Community Music

Profile

Ellie has been deeply passionate about music as far back as she can remember. She picked up the flute aged 7, following this soon after with the oboe, singing and piano. She now teaches all four, and is particularly keen on music theory which she integrates into all of her lessons, as well as teaching it separately. Ellie realised her desire to teach during her time studying at the University of York, where she was heavily involved in performance, composition and musical analysis as well as a number of music education outreach programmes. She decided to stay at York for an additional year, studying for an MA in Community Music, which she achieved with Distinction. The MA course focused on the enjoyment and rewards that come from the actual process of making music, rather than purely reaching an end result. This approach is found throughout Ellie's teaching, with lessons being designed and tailored to meet each pupil's needs.
